The ACA’s founders are all colleagues all who graduated from Beijing University of Traditional Chinese Medicine, and who have been practicing in the United States of America for many years. Today we now have colleagues from Canada and Brazil who are also part of the ACA.

Dr. Max Yanzhu Liu

Dr. Yanzhu Liu is the director of Columbia Acupuncture PC, New York, NY, founded in 2006. Dr. Liu is also a professor of Traditional Chinese Medicine at Pacific College of Oriental Medicine, NYC and an associate research scientist at Columbia University.

Dr. Liu earned his M.D./PhD in 1996 from Beijing University of Chinese Medicine, credentialed as the top Medical School by the China National Immunization and Health Bureau. He was an attending physician in internal medicine at First Hospital (Dongzhimen) of Beijing University of Traditional Chinese Medicine. Dr. Liu has been active in researching atherosclerosis for 13 years, and finished his first postdoctoral training in Tshinghua University in 1998. He received a patent for his atherosclerosis treatment in China in 1998, and came to Columbia University as Associate Research Scientist in 1999 for hyperlipidemia (high fat/lipid concentration in the blood) and atherosclerosis (disease of the arteries). Dr. Liu has written chapters for five books, was the chief editor of Internal Medicine – Chinese Medicine, and has published 20 papers related to his clinical and biomedical research.

Dr Liu is a member of the American Heart Association, Beijing Science and Technology Society, PR China, and Chinese Medicine and Pharmacy, PR China.

Mr. Lipin Zeng is acting Chairman of Yunnan Panlong Yunhai Pharmaceutical Group. Mr. Zeng is President of the Yunnan Wenshan Sanqi Industry Association and Vice president of Yunnan Pharmaceutical Association. Since 1994, He has worked with Panlong Yunhai to create Chinese patented detoxification treatments, called Pai Du Yang Yan Jiao Nang, Paidu Yanyang is currently sold in fifty-three Chinese provinces. Mr. Zeng serves as Chairman of the board of Yunnan Chuang Li Biological Pharmaceutical Group (since 2003), Vice Chairman and Executive General Manager of Yunnan Sanchi Technology (panax pseudo-ginseng var. notoginseng) Co., Ltd, Chairman of board of The Equity Investment Fund Management Co., Ltd. (since 2012), and Chairman of board of Yunnan ChuangLi Investment Management Co., Ltd. (since 2001), Chairman of the board of Farlong Pharmaceutical, (since 1998), and was Vice Chairman of Hong Kong Farlong Pharmaceutical (1998-2002).

Mr. Zeng received a Bachelor of Medicine, a MA of Industrial Economy of CASS, and an MBA from American La Sierra University. Mr. Zeng is Director of North TCM Alumni Association, Vice president of Yunnan Federation, and China Federation of Returned Overseas Youth Committee.

Dr. Lisa Lu Han is the Medical Director of Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation Department of Raritan Bay Medical Center. Dr. Han is the owner and director of Jersey Rehabilitation Medical Clinic, founded in 2003. A licensed physician, acupuncturist, and physical therapist, Han has been practicing in the US since 1991. Dr. Han is American Board Certified in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, Physiatrist, American Board Certified in Electrodiagnostic Medicine. She was included in American’s Top Physicians for years 2012, 2010, and 2009 by Consumer’s research Council of America. She has written eight publications, and in 2001 earned Best Resident Research Paper by New York Association of Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation. Dr. Han is a member of the American Medical Association, American Association of Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation, American Association of Electrodiagnostic Medicine, American Academy of Medical Acupuncture, and United Alien of New York State Licensed Acupuncturists.

From 2002-2004, Dr. Han was a Physiatrist at the Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Center, New Jersey and in 2002, worked as a physiatrist at Hartford Physical Medicine, Connecticut. Dr. Han was acting Medical Doctor and Editor of the China Association of Traditional Chinese Medicine from 1987-1990 and Beijing College of Traditional Chinese Medicine and Affiliated Hospital from 1983-1987. Dr. Andrew Zhenghua Liu is the director of the Chinese Medicine and Acupuncture Healing Center in Cupertino, California, founded in 1998. He is acting Chief Acupuncture Practitioner at the Regional Rehabilitation Center of California Pacific Medicine Center. Since 1996, Dr. Liu has acted as Chief Professor, Clinic Supervisor and Director of American College of Traditional Chinese Medicine’s Doctorate Program in San Francisco, CA. Dr. Liu has over 20 years of clinical and hospital experience. Before relocating to the US, Dr. Liu was Professor and Chief Physician of the 1st Hospital (Dongzhimen) of Beijing University of Traditional Chinese Medicine from 1987-1996. He was also Chief Physician of Beijing Medical Center of Capital Famous Traditional Chinese Medicine Experts. Dr. Liu has published 14 books on Chinese medicine and acupuncture theories and clinical applications and forty research articles on difficult and complicated diseases treated with Chinese medicine and acupuncture.

Dr. Liu earned a B.S. from Hunan University of Traditional Chinese Medicine in 1985. In 1991, Dr. Liu received his M.S. & Ph.D. from Beijing University of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), credentialed as the top Medical School by the China National Immunization and Health Bureau. In 1997, Dr. became a licensed acupuncturist in California. He is a member of the Chinese Association of Acupuncture and Moxibustion,Traditional Chinese Medicine Association of China, Association of Combination of Traditional Chinese Medicine and Western Medicine, Vice- Minister of International Department, China Research Association of Folk Traditional Chinese Medicine Treatment Methods.

Dr. Quansheng Lu

Director of Research

Dr. Quansheng Lu is the director of Wholelife Chinese Medicine & Acupuncture Center in Rockville, MD. He acts as visiting Professor at Henan University of Chinese Medicine, China.

From 2000-2003, he was attending physician, Xiyuan Hospital, China Academy of Chinese Medical Sciences, Beijing, China. From 1989 – 1997, Dr. Lu was a resident Physician in Huaiyang General Hospital, Henan, China. He holds three patents in China and has published seven professional books on TCM. He has also published 30 peer-reviewed papers in the top journals in the field, and presented his scientific findings nationally and internationally.

In 1989, Lu earned an MD in Chinese Medicine, Henan University of Chinese Medicine, Henan, China. In 2000, Dr. Lu earned a M.S. in Basic Medicine from the Beijing University of Chinese Medicine. In 2003, Dr. Lu earned his PhD in Cardiology in Integrated Medicine, China Academy of Chinese Medical Sciences in Beijing, focusing on hypertension molecular mechanisms and R&D of new anti-hypertensive natural herbs. In acknowledgement of his excellent achievement in the field, Dr. Lu was invited as a postdoctorate fellow at Georgetown University Medical Center from 2003-2009. From 2009-2010, Dr. Lu held a Postdoctoral Fellowships at Children’s National Medical Center, George Washington University, Washington DC.

He is a council member of the Cardiovascular Professional Committee, China Association of Chinese Medicine (CACM) and Cardiovascular Professional Committee, World Federation of Chinese Medicine Societies (WFCMS), and American Society of Hypertension (ASH).
